Hello Book Lover,
I’ve always believed that the right story finds us at exactly the right moment.
Sometimes it gives us language for something we haven’t known how to say. Sometimes it makes us feel a little less alone. Sometimes it simply reminds us that there is still so much beauty, humor, possibility, and life waiting for us on the other side of whatever season we’re in.
That belief is a big part of why I wanted to create The Reading Club.
So much of my own work—and my book—has been about what happens when life changes and a woman has to decide what she’ll carry forward, what she’ll leave behind, and how she’ll build a life that feels like hers again. Books have always been part of that process for me. They let us borrow someone else’s courage, perspective, imagination, or wisdom for a little while—and then bring something new back into our own lives.
But I don’t think books were ever meant to be experienced entirely alone.
The best ones make us want to turn to someone and say, Did you read that part? They start conversations around dinner tables. They introduce us to women we might never have met otherwise. They make us laugh, rethink what we believed, recognize ourselves in unexpected places, and occasionally change the direction of our lives.
That’s what I hope we create here. A place for wonderful books, certainly—but also for thoughtful conversation, beautiful gatherings, new friendships, old-fashioned hospitality, and the kind of community that makes life feel a little richer.
Because sometimes the story that moves you forward is the one you read—and sometimes it’s the one you begin writing with the people you meet along the way.
I’m so glad you’re here.
